What was the inspiration behind this design?
This dress was created for the mother of the groom, who wanted something simple and elegant—but definitely not boring. She has beautifully defined shoulders, which led us to choose a high round neckline to keep the look modest while still highlighting her natural grace. Comfort was a top priority, and we made sure to select a flowy crepe fabric that felt light and soft throughout the day.
How did you decide on the color and details?
We wanted the dress to harmonize with the bride’s color palette, which featured French blue and grey tones. At the same time, we found that gold complemented the customer’s skin tone beautifully. The final fabric incorporated both, striking a perfect balance. Ruching at the hips and bust added structure and emphasized her shape in a flattering way—while also nodding to current trends.
What details did you focus on as the dress took shape?
To give the design a soft, dreamy quality, we added delicate lace appliqués that complemented the bride’s color palette. Each piece of lace was carefully chosen to echo the grey and French blue tones, tying everything together beautifully. We also did all the hand-beading ourselves, adding a subtle shimmer and giving the dress a refined, one-of-a-kind finish—elegant without being overstated.
