What inspired the design of this custom gown?
The bride was planning a black-tie wedding and wanted something classic but striking. She envisioned a strapless gown with a drop waist, so we explored different variations until we found a more accentuated version that flattered her figure best. The round neckline and flat front and back kept the silhouette clean and timeless, while the ivory Italian luxury satin added elegance and structure.
Were there any special design elements that made this dress unique?
Yes—volume was key for her. She wanted fullness on the sides of the skirt without adding bulk to the front or back. We achieved that by layering tulle at the sides, which gave the dress a sculptural look without compromising comfort. We also recommended satin-covered buttons down the back, each looped to conceal a hidden zipper and maintain a seamless finish.
How did you make sure the dress was both beautiful and comfortable?
We built a corset-style bodice under the satin layer, with internal lacing. It gives the bride extra support and helps distribute the weight of the dress, so she feels secure without being restricted. It’s those hidden details that make the dress not just elegant, but wearable for an entire celebration.
